ARC Pod Installation Tips
Purpose of This Guide
This guide provides handy tips for installing ARC Pods. It is not designed to replace the ARC Pod install manual, but used in conjunction to speed up the installation process.
Safety First
The procedure in this guide discusses procedures for assembling an ARC Pod.
When assembled an ARC phonebooth weighs approximately 200kgs, with the Duo and Quad Pods weighing substantially more. Individual components such as walls and glass panels weigh in excess of 25kg and require two people to safely remove them from the shipping crate and position.
We strongly recommend you engage a certified LaunchPOD installer when moving or relocating any of our Pods or Cubes.
If you are in doubt, stop immediately and contact LaunchPOD
support.
Open the crate and remove the two side panels with two people - each side panel weighs more than 40kg - put them to one side
Take out the square floor base and locate the bags of screws and fittings
Below the walls and floor, are the door and rear glass. These can be left in crates until needed, or move to a safe area near the assembly site
When attaching the corner brackets to the base (which hold the side panels in place), the screw holes for the side walls face towards the inside of the base (not facing outside edges).
NOTE: the sides of the base have vent holes. The rear of the base has a hole for the power lead - this is the BACK! There are 3 screws to hold each bracket and keep them loose until all screws are in place - if one screw doesn't fit, either just use two, or ideally use drill to slightly expand one of the holes.
Before putting the two bolts at the top, to hold together the side panels, make sure to pull the occupancy light wire through to the front (opposite side to where the hole for power lead goes) in between the two panels - it comes out at the top front where the panels join, and the thin light hooks in place when plugged into this cable. If you forget it, you have to open everything up later!
Pull power cable through hole in back and through to the socket on the back of the right side panel. Plug it in and turn switch on in advance
To put rear glass in place, pull the fabric back (held with velcro) all the way around, push the bottom in place and push the glass tightly whilst pulling the fabric back all the way around. The glass will then hold in place to allow all the small screws to be screwed in, then push the fabric back all the way around
Same thing exactly for the front door frame (please remove the visible stickers showing screw hole positions
For the table, we found the brackets are best screwed in loose initially, then check position of table so screw holes match, then tighten before putting wall lining on, then put table on with screws
The light unit is actually easy - Put lining piece in place FIRST (with tape), then plug light into the cable and then push one end (ie front) into the clips all the way, then push it BACK into the rear clips just slightly (enough that it stays in place firmly. It is supposed to sit halfway into both sets of brackets
The control panel is tricky, however. Need to plug power cable AND data cable in and be very gentle (hard to get cables back inside the cavity). The panel bracket has 4 tiny screws which are fiddly to get into the wall panel - don't tighten them too much, only enough that the touch panel clips in nicely and stays in place.
There are some timber pieces for holding the door in place whilst you screw the hinges on. Should be obvious how to do this. Similarly the door handle actually slots in place fairly easily.
Make sure to test power points and test control of fan speed, light dimming and light colour using panel.
